David Hoffman

September 28, 1943 — April 24, 2018

Alexandria

David Stanley Hoffman, the son of Oscar and Frieda (Holm) Hoffman, was born on September
28, 1943 in New Ulm, MN. David graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in New
Ulm in the class of 1961. He married his high school sweetheart Carol Schnobrich on July 18,
1964 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles, MN. They started their married life in
New Ulm, MN where David was employed at Potters Implement. They were blessed with twin
daughters, Julie and Joan, and son, David.

In 1974, they moved to Hutchinson where he was employed at 3M as a plant engineer for the
next 30 years. During their years in Hutchinson, they designed and built 3 homes, with David
doing much of the work himself.

In 2004, David and Carol moved to their retirement home on Lake Amelia, a home he again did
most of the building. While living there, he was the neighborhood handyman. He enjoyed
woodworking , making many beautiful furniture pieces for his family. He was active in the lake
association and was a volunteer water quality tester. They recently moved to Alexandria where
he was working on projects for their new home. David loved living by the lake. He enjoyed the
sun rises from his deck and visiting with friends and neighbors. But his main joy was his family,
especially their grandchildren. He was very proud of all his grandchildren and the
accomplishments they have made.
