Donald Hansen

Donald Rice Hansen was born on June 1st, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Henry and Mable (Rice) Hansen. As a young man, he served in the navy during World War II. On October 1st, 1949, Donald married Elderine Nordquist and to this union three children: Gregory, Craig, and Marnie were born. He was very active in Alexandria Developers to bring new business to the Alexandria area. He also owned and operated the local dairy business. In his younger years Donald liked to fish and duck hunt, and in his retirement years he could almost always be found on the golf course, honing his skills.

On Saturday, August 3rd, at the age of 94, Donald passed away at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elderine; parents, Henry and Mable Hansen, and sister, Shirley.

Donald is survived by his children, Gregory (Kathy) Hansen, Craig (Cindy Hansen), and Marnie (Peter) Thielke; grandchildren, Douglas (Judi), Julie, Marie, Kurt (Erica), Matthew (Jessica), and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12th from 10 to 11 AM at Grace Church in Alexandria, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Kinkead Cemetery.   Memorials are preferred to Grace Church.
