Ruth Elaine (Peterson) Cowan, 88 of Miltona, MN died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born January 29, 1933, in Minneapolis, MN to Clara (Bast) and Alfred Peterson.
Ruth attended and graduated from South High School, Minneapolis MN where she enjoyed playing sports and making friends. Where she met the Love of her Life, “Her Elvis,” Stanley Miller Cowan.
Ruth and Stan married in 1953 and went on to have 9 children, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. The Matriarch of this family, these children were her Pride and Joy, her Legacy. Her eyes would light up at the sight of anyone of them!
Ruth worked and volunteered at Church and Elderly Day Programs. She enjoyed conversating, breaking bread and playing bingo with the elders. People would always say Ruthie has the “Heart of an Angel!” Outside of spending quality time with her Children, Grandchildren and Friends Ruth enjoyed Gardening, Swimming, Garage Saleing, Auctions, Collecting Antiques, Playing Cards, Bingo and Casino Stays.
Proceeded in death by Parents, Clara and Alfred, Husband, Stanley Miller Cowan Sr., Daughter, Linda Renea Cowan, Son In-Law, Michael Marotte, Grand daughter, Amanda Cowan and Great Grandson Charles Lamont Tyson, sisters, Joan Olson and Mary Dibley, and brother, Gordon Peterson.
Ruth is Survived by her children LuAnn Marotte, Raymond Cowan (Monica), Corrine Harper (Casey), Richard Cowan, Carla Meinert (Steve), Laura Hanson (Joel Thompson) Stanley Cowan Jr., Andrea Cowan, 18 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, brother David Peterson, special friend Jackie Paul, sisters and brother-in-laws
Ruth Elaine Cowan, of Miltona, Minnesota, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home at the age of 88 years old.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Aug. 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota
A visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.
Interment will be in Mount Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Miltona.
