AGNES M. COVEL Agnes Margaret Covel was born on September 3, 1917 to the late Julius and Thekla (Schwartz) Fraisl at the family home in Carlos Township, Minnesota. Agnes was united in marriage to Howard L. Covel on June 10, 1941 at St. Mary?s Catholic Rectory in Alexandria, MN. They farmed for one year and then lived a Navy life for a couple of years. Agnes was a homemaker and lived a rural life by Lake Carlos for the rest of her life. She loved the lake and watched the beautiful sunsets as much as possible. She was a great seamstress who loved to fish, do crafts and sewing, gardening, and was a great caregiver to family members. Agnes was a member of the Women?s Auxiliary and also a former member of St. Mary?s Christian Mothers. She was also a member of Carlos Homemakers Club. Agnes M. Covel died on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her children Margaret (Ralph) Kremers of St. Cloud, MN; Gerald (Bee) Covel Sr. of Carlos, MN; grandchildren Jerry (Melissa) Covel Jr. of Coon Rapids, MN; Mike Covel (Michelle Paulzine) of Alexandria; Cindy (Tom) Zieglmeier of St. Cloud, MN; Wendy (Troy) Bechtold of Kimball, MN; Scott (Sara) Kremers of St. Cloud, MN; 16 grandchildren; and brother August (Helen) Fraisl of Walker, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard Covel on September 24, 1983; and sister Anna Berg. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Steve Binsfeld officiating. Interment was in the St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Scott Kremers, Jerry Covel Jr., Mike Covel, Tom Zieglmeier, Troy Bechtold, and Ben Zieglmeier. Honorary Casket Bearers were Cindy Zieglmeier and Wendy Bechtold. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
