Agnes Marie (Courrier) Winter was born on September 23,1929 in Evansville, Minnesota to George and Philomena (Wagner) Courrier. Agnes had four siblings, Cyrilla, George, Bruce, and Colleen. Agnes was united in marriage on September 18, 1952 to Melvin Winter at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Millerville, Minnesota. Melvin and Agnes resided in Willmar, Minnesota until 1965 when they moved to Roseville, Minnesota. They were blessed with four children, one grandson and as Agnes would say her favorite son-in-law Roland. Agnes answered to many salutations; Mrs., Mom, Mother, Aggie, Mickie, Grandma, and Boo Boo. She had a dry wit and a level of creativity that she kept to the end. If you ever received one of her cards...as a recipient and friend said "Hallmark wasn't qualified to carry her envelopes?. Agnes knew and loved many and was loved and cherished in return. As a niece said ?Our family has lost one of its greatest matriarchs?. Agnes is survived by husband, Melvin of Roseville; daughters, Mary Jo (Roland) Pfender of Wayzata, Joyce Winter of Roseville; son, David Winter of Evansville; grandson, Kurt Pfender of Blaine; brother, George Courrier (Lucille) of St. Cloud; sister, Colleen Ethen of Sartell; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and grand grand nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Patricia Jean; parents, George and Philomena; sister, Cyrilla Bitzan; brother, Bruce Courrier; and nephew, Kenny Bitzan. Agnes passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8th, 2012, surrounded by those she loved. Agnes lived her Christian faith everyday of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Feb. 11th , 2012 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville with Father LeRoy Scheierl officiating. Music was provided by organist Rachael Wagner and The Voices of Joy Choir. Interment was in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery. Casket Bearers were: Kurt Pfender. Paul Bitzan Sr., Patrick Bitzan, Aaron Bitzan, Ryan Bitzan, Brent Bitzan and Joseph Bitzan. We will all miss her honest opinions, her humor, her cards, her afghans, slippers, and all of her artistic creations. Most of all we will miss her love but will carry it in our hearts.
