Agnes Elvera Wolff was born at home on February 14,1926 to Betsey (Monsrud) and Albert Bullick at Wood Lake, Minnesota. She was the oldest of four children. She grew up there and attended school in Hanley Falls. In 1945 Agnes moved to the ?Cities? and worked at Brown and Bigelow, running a drill machine for one and a half years, making ammunition until the Korean War ended. Next she went to work at Louise F. Dow, a printing company. On June 10, 1950 Agnes and John W. Wolff were married and purchased their first of two homes in Roseville, Minnesota. Shirley Ann was born on October 12, 1954. In 1955 Agnes began a new career with Webb Publishing Company. She worked in many different positions, the last one being a supervisor. Agnes became a mother-in-law on September 15, 1978 when Shirley married Daryl Saathoff. On September 26, 1980 Agnes became a grandmother when granddaughters, Melissa and Melanie, were born. In 1987, Agnes purchased a home in Hoffman, Minnesota, to be closer to her sisters on the weekends and during vacations. She loved to entertain there. After a thirty-eight year career at the publishing company, she retired. John and Agnes then moved to Maple Grove, Minnesota in 1993 to be close to Shirley and her family. Not ready to retire, she worked at Berkshire Board and Care for the next eight years in housekeeping. She finally retired at the age of seventy-three. Once again they moved, this time to Alexandria, Minnesota in 2007, to be closer to Shirley and her family and to enjoy life in a smaller town. Agnes was hesitant to move, but Shirley promised they would go out to lunch once a week, which they did until Agnes recently became ill. Agnes was born on Valentine?s Day, which always made her birthdays extra special. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, Ireland and several times to Hawaii. She loved to embroider, winning ribbons at the county fair on her dishtowels and pillowcases. Agnes was a great cook and baker, she made the best cakes. She loved to cater and entertain. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo or when playing Uno, loved to make the other players jump when she hollered, ?Uno!? Agnes passed away peacefully, shortly after sunrise on Easter morning, April 24, 2011 in her home, with her loved ones by her side. She was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria, Minnesota. Agnes is survived by her husband John; her daughter Shirley and her husband Daryl; granddaughters Melissa and Melanie: brother Richard and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Agnes is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters: Beverly and Shirley.
