Alice Mercedes (Vadnais) Maynard was born on April 11, 1919 in Spencer Township, Ward County, North Dakota. Alice graduated high school in Kenmare, North Dakota.
Alice was united in marriage to Warren Maynard on December 21, 1941 in Sidney, Montana. The couple made their home in Minot, North Dakota where Alice worked as a bookkeeper at a drycleaners.
Alice enjoyed dancing with Warren, and was a very good singer. She loved spending time gardening and watching birds, especially the Robins, and was an amazing baker. Alice was a loving, wife, mother and friend, and was the glue and the strength for the family.
Alice died on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Bethany Home in Alexandria at the age of 98. She is survived by her son, Bill (Ginger) Maynard of Alexandria, MN; daughter, Alana Maynard of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Troy Berger of Minot, Tonjia Day of Temecula, CA, Kari (Darwin) Haugtvedt of Hawley, MN, Staci (Mark) Lautiger of Bloomington, Sheila (Scott) Heifort of Fergus Falls, Tony (Jill) Bridge of Hutchinson; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma; husband, Warren; infant twins sons, great-grandson, Samual Berger; brothers, Duane and Bill Vadnais; and sister, Helen McConnell.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 PM with prayers at 5pm on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Minot, ND.
