Alma Lindquist

Alma Mary was born on February 10, 1925, in Millerville, Minnesota the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Haitenburger) Jesienouski. She attended grade school in Millerville through the 8th grade. On December 29, 1941, Alma was united in marriage to Peter Ley in Millerville. After their marriage Pete served his country during World War II. Upon returning from the war the family moved to Alexandria where the couple raised their four children. Peter died in 1961. Alma married Harold Lindquist on November 12, 1966 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Nelson. The couple lived in Nelson after their marriage. During her life Alma worked for St. Luke?s Home, Bethany Home and Douglas County Hospital as a cook. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking for her family. Mrs. Lindquist died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the Douglas County Hospital. She is survived by three sons: Louis & wife, Debra Ley of Forest Lake, MN, Gale & wife, Audrey Ley of Florida, Brian & wife, Chris Ley of Nelson; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and sister, Elizabeth Thelen of Park Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Peter in 1961 and Harold in 1991; daughter, Arlene; one great grandchild and two sisters. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 1, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Nelson with Rev. Barbara Lund Thompson officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren: Angie Ley, Angel Ley, Carey Perry, Wade Ley, Todd Ley, Michelle Euerle, Aaron Ley, Skot Ley. Burial was at the Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, Minnesota. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
