Alyce Hanson

Alyce LaVerne (Wald) Hanson was born August 27, 1921 in Alexandria, MN. Her parents were William and Elizabeth Wald. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Garfield. Alyce graduated from high school in Alexandria. She attended Northwest School of Business in Minneapolis for legal secretary.
Alyce had a successful career as a legal assistant at the McCarten Tillitt Law Firm in Alexandria where she worked for 45 years. She received her paralegal degree from St. Cloud and worked with John J. McCarten handling business and corporate matters for the firm. She was highly regarded as a dedicated employee and professional.
Alyce was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Lakes Area Professional Women. She cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Alyce died on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Alexandria at the age of 95. She is survived by her son, Richard (Theresa) Hanson of Discovery Bay, CA; grandchildren, Leslie Burnett, Megan (Travis) Salmela, and Chip Burnett; and great-grandchildren, Aiden James, Charlotte Grace, and Gemma Lee Salmela. Alyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Pamela.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Inurnment will be East Moe Lutheran Church Cemetery in Moe Township.
