Amalia ?Molly? Josephine (Klug) Christopherson was born on November 6, 1913 in Ida Township, Douglas County, Minnesota to Carl and Maria (Kloehn) Klug. She attended country school in Ida Township through the eighth grade. Molly then worked various jobs, mostly as a nanny in Alexandria. Molly was united in marriage to Vernon Christopherson on June 27, 1937 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield. The couple moved to St. Paul where Molly worked as a waitress at the St. Paul Town and Country Club for 25 years as well as a variety of other jobs. Molly enjoyed making quilts, rugs, doing embroidery, being a seamstress, gardening, cooking, and baking, especially her famous cookies that the neighborhood kids would come an enjoy. Molly died on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at her residence in St. Paul at the age of 95. She is survived by her sisters, Edna Anderson of Alexandria, Adina ?Ginger? Gasbarri of Hurley, WI, and Maria ?Mary? Zehner of Alexandria; and many nieces and nephews. Molly is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Maria; husband, Vernon; brothers, William, Arthur, Benjamin, Reinhold, and Albert; and sisters, Lydia and Martha. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield with Reverend Shawn Ethridge and Reverend Michael Middaugh officiating. Organist was Irma Brockberg. Interment was held in the St. John?s Lutheran Cemetery in Garfield. Casket bearers were Molly?s nephews; and honorary casket bearers were Molly?s Nieces. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
