Amelia Cole

August 26, 2017 — August 26, 2017

Amelia Juniper Cole Was born on August 26th, 2017, in Alexandria, MN. She is the daughter of Micah & Ashley Cole, of Evansville, MN.
Amelia made her grand debut into this world unexpectedly and much too soon, but for reasons we will never know. She was a gift to us, one that we never expected to have to return so soon. We are finding comfort in knowing that she is being taken PERFECT care of by our Heavenly Father.
Ashley's pregnancy with Amelia was largely typical. Food cravings: bacon cheeseburgers, to pickles and cottage cheese, to Mexican, and finally onto Chinese cuisine. But both carried on a fondness for chai tea, one of the only things that could almost always settle Ashley's stomach. The one thing that we are SURE that she didn't like is coffee, most unpleasant side-effects, ask Micah ;) Amelia's favorite times of day, in the later weeks, seemed to revolve around meal times. Either she was excited for food or it was just that Ashley was FINALLY done chasing big brother for a few minutes and not rocking the cradle.
There were a few negative events during the pregnancy. We knew by mid-July that there was not enough of the hormone progesterone being produced. So supplements were started and levels improved. Ashley continued to be monitored and her levels stayed in range. We thought nothing of it until Ashley started having contractions this past week, culminating in Amelia's delivery on Saturday night at 11:50 pm.
Amelia is a fighter. We found out after she was born that the placenta had completely separated before she was delivered. Meaning that she hadn't been receiving oxygen as she was kicking just before her untimely exit. She held on as if to say "Hello", wiggled a bit, tried to take a few breathes, and passed onto heaven as both Mom and Dad held her and wished her "Goodbye".
To say we are heartbroken just doesn't seem like enough. We had dreams of her seeing our farm, making her Christmas stocking, as well as teaching her everything that we know.
Amelia is survived by both parents, Micah & Ashley Cole, big brother Samuel Cole, Grandma Shawn Cole, Grandpa Jack Cole, Grandma Shannon Lucht, Grandpa Ken Lucht, Great Grandma's Eunice Lucht, Elaine Wachal & Elva Enemark; Great Grandpa's Donald Cole, Paul Enemark, & Roger Wachal; Aunts: Hailey Lucht, Caitlin Cole, Jenina Hanson, Calah Topp, and Elizabeth Cole; Uncles: Austin Lucht, Dallas Lucht, Dylan Lucht, Jacob Cole, Anthony Hanson, Derek Topp, Zachary Cole, and Josiah Cole; Cousin's: Nora, Eli & Neva Cole, Charlotte & Beckett Hanson, Kiarra, Kassidi & Cooper Topp.
