Ardelle Marcine Froemming age 88 of Leaf Valley, died on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Knute Nelson. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley at 11:00 AM. A visitation will take place on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
OBITUARY
Ardelle Marcine (Dittberner) Froemming was born on April 18, 1927 in Alexandria, Minnesota the oldest of four children of Arthur and Emma (Foslien) Dittberner of Leaf Valley. She attended District 23 Country School and graduated from Central High School. She was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Ardelle spent her whole life living in the Leaf Valley area.
When she was a young girl, her family purchased the store in Leaf Valley, so the family moved from their family farm. On July 9, 1946, Ardelle married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Froemming at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. After their wedding, the couple lived at the Froemming family farm. Ardelle and Lloyd were married for sixty-four years and were blessed with four children, Steve, Linda, Judith and Tim.
When Ardelle was not busy taking care of her family she worked as a bookkeeper at the Garfield Grain Elevator for a number of years. She was well known as the best cake maker around. She made cakes for every special occasion for family and friends. She also raised chickens, enjoyed fresh flowers and loved going on car trips traveling the country with Lloyd. She was a member of Lutheran Women’s Mission League and the church ladies aide group. She was a fantastic cook, who loved to entertain and make special meals for her family’s holidays. Ardelle loved music. She especially enjoyed piano and old time music.
She was an independent woman for her era. Her spunky personality will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Ardelle died on March 17, 2016 at the age of eighty-eight. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; daughter, Linda Froemming; granddaughter, Sheila Froemming; brothers-in-law, Chris McCabe and Bob Mrowicki; nephew, Jim McCabe; all of Lloyd’s siblings and their spouses with the exception of his sister, Leona Betterman.She is survived by her children, Steve (Sandi) Froemming, Judith Froemming, and Tim (Vera) Froemming; grandchildren, Stacy Froemming, John Makosky, Sara (Brian) Chlian, Jenna Froemming Murallas, Matt Dingmann, Lisa (Jon) Hennen, and Adam (Jenn) Froemming; eleven great-grandchildren, Ella, Grace, Lily, Jaden, Julia, Christian, J.D., Walker, Finley, Beckett and Grayson; sisters, Bobette McCabe and Cheryl Mrowicki; brother, David (Carol) Dittberner; sister-in-law, Leona Betterman; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service took place on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. Interment took place at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery.
