Ardys Fischer

Ardys was born on January 28, 1934, in Holmes City Township on a farm between Alexandria and Holmes City.  She was a hardworking farm girl who loved the great outdoors.  She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1951.

In December of 1952, Ardys was united in marriage to Harold Fischer.  To this union five children were born: Rickie Allen, Randy Harold, Ronald Wayne, Tamara Ardean, Roylie Dean.  After she had raised her children Ardys received her LPN Degree in 1982 and worked as a nurse at Glenwood Retirement Home for 10 years.  The couple moved to Alexandria in 1999 where she worked at Edgewood Vista and then Randy Fischer Real Estate until her retirement.

Ardys had a love for music all her life.  She would volunteer at Edgewood Vista playing the piano for Devotion services every week from 2001 – 2020.

Ardys died on Thursday, September 24, 2020.  She is survived by four children: Rick of Villard, Ronald (Alida) of Alexandria, Tammy Fischer (David Lee) of Devils Lake, ND, Roylie (Sheila) of Alexandria; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister, Marlene (Vernal) Nelson of Kensington.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, son, Randy, granddaughter, Nicole.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home.  Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020, 1:00 PM at Bethesda Lutheran Church.  Service will be live streamed for those unable to attend
