Arnold “Arnie” Kenneth Bredeson was born on March 10, 1945, in Starbuck, Minnesota to Oliver and Ruth (Sanders) Bredeson. The family lived in Holmes City and Arnie graduated in 1963 from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. He attended college in Rochester for a year to study Electronics.
Arnie was united in marriage to Corrie Linder on May 22, 1970, at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. To this union, the couple was blessed with three children: Perry, Randy and Sheri. Arnie worked for the Douglas County Highway Department for 37 years. He performed road sign maintenance and everything that goes with it; sign creation, installation, road surveying and making sure roads strips were painted correctly on all county roads in Douglas County.
Arnie enjoyed working on cars, playing guitar and country music. He loved working in the garage, tinkering and fixing things. He will be remembered as an honest, dedicated, loyal man, who was very ambitious and hardworking; who was also always there to help others.
Arnie died on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Corrie Bredeson of Alexandria; sons, Perry (Jen) Bredeson of Minneapolis, Randy Bredeson of Hoffman; daughter, Sheri Bredeson of Alexandria; grandchildren, Brady Kreft, Courtney, Ryan, Tyler, and Vinny Bredeson; including many nieces and nephews. Arnie is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Ruth; brothers, Rollo and Orlando Bredeson; and sister, Laverne Trisko.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
