Audrey Louise Haugen was born on January 6, 1937 at home in Grove Lake Township, MN, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Wright) Bowen. Audrey attended grade school and graduated from Villard High School. Audrey met Philip Haugen, ?the love of her life? at a dance in Morris, MN at the Morris Ball Room January 27, 1954. They were united in marriage on January 13, 1955 in Brooten, MN and made their home in Glenwood, MN. Together they had six children Kerry, Denise, Jamie, Lori, Melanie, and Mark. Audrey stayed at home with her children until her youngest child began school. She learned at an early age the values love, embrace, feeling kindness, compassion, unselfishness and getting your work done. She lived and raised her family by that list through example of her words and actions. In 1971, she began to work for the Glenwood Retirement Village as a caregiver to the many residents she met there. She also worked at Bethany Home in Alexandria as the Assistant Supervisor of Housekeeping and then as a personal caregiver to her grandson Neil until her diagnoses of cancer in April of 2010. Audrey was a generous, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was also a great cook and made sure everyone who entered her home was properly fed. She took care of the yard by mowing the grass and keeping everything neat. She loved animals and raised horses, cats, goats and dogs. She especially loved her grandchildren and made everyone of them feel special when they visited. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Audrey L.
