Audrey Lorraine DeSota was born April 30, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Archie and Ruth (Hallbeck) DeSota. She was raised and schooled in Minneapolis. Audrey met Albert Lee and the couple moved to California. They were blessed with two children, Dennis and Barbara. Audrey and her family moved back to Minnesota and lived in the Minneapolis area and Alexandria area. Audrey was married to Lawrence Olson and the couple made their home in Alexandria. Audrey?s great granddaughter, Christina, was given over to her at age three. Audrey raised Christina as if she were her own daughter. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Audrey enjoyed spending time sewing. She also had a green thumb and loved taking care of her houseplants. Audrey also enjoyed music, especially country and bluegrass. On Sunday, March 2, 2014 Audrey died at the age of ninety-two years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Olson; one brother; and five sisters. Audrey is survived by her children, Roger Wright, Dennis Lee and wife Virginia, of Alexandria and Barbara Lorenz of Alexandria; grandchildren, Sherri Lorenz, Michael Lorenz, Johnny Lorenz, Wayne and Liza; great grandchildren, Christina Essig, Shelly Greyowl and Heidi Henry; and thirteen great great grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Reverend Mike Widner was the officiant. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers included Stephen Henry, Dakotah Greyowl, Charles Greyowl and Eric Littlegeorge. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
