Barbara Jones

Barbara Mae Jones was born on January 17, 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She grew up in a Foster Care with her sisters, Cindy, Karen, Geri, and brother, Dwight in Bloomington, MN.  Barb graduated from Jefferson High School in Bloomington and in 1996 she moved with her two sons to Alexandria.

Barb will be remembered for having a huge heart and was always thinking of others.  Her love for her grandchildren was unparalleled and she enjoyed spending time with them.  She also enjoyed going for walks, riding bike, exploring different restaurants and spending time with neighbors and friends.

Barbara died on Thursday, January 7, 2021.  She is survived by her two sons: Steven (Lauren), Mark; grandchildren: Andrea, Donavan, Sophia, Alyssa, Destiney; sisters, Cindy (Thomas) Backora, Karen Bennett, Geri Koskela.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dwight Larson, Arthur Thrune.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.   Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Due to Covid-19 health mandates, social distancing and facial coverings are required.
