Benina L. Merwin was born on July 24, 1921, in Elbow Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Bernt Fagerberg and Martha Anderson. She attended high school in Elbow Lake and graduated in 1939.
She was united in marriage to Stanley Merwin on September 6, 1941 in Elbow Lake, MN. To this union six children were born. The couple lived in Minneapolis, MN.
Benina died on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She is survived by her children: Darryl of Minneapolis, Bonnie (R.C.) Mitchell of Littleton, CO, Diane (Skip) Lorence of Aviston, ILL, Barbara Merwin of Crosby, MN, Kim (Dave) Eck of Aitkin, MN; daughter-in-law: Judy Merwin of New Hope, MN; grandchildren: Tammy, Melissa, Wendy, Michelle, Shawn, Aaron, Carey, Matt, Amanda, Neil, Christopher; great grandchildren: Connor, Carter, Haley, Makayla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; parents, son David; brothers: Merle, Lindy; sisters: Buelah, Myrtle, Laura.
Memorial service was held on Saturday, February 7, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Home Chapel. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
