Benny Guy Miller, a beloved father and friend, passed away on January 15, 2025, in his home, at the age of 74. Born on November 15, 1950, in Graceville, MN, Benny grew up in Chokio, where he graduated from Chokio/Alberta High School in 1968. Shortly after, he proudly enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard, serving his country for six years.
Benny met Marcia Fridgen, and they united in marriage on October 28, 1978, in Dumont, MN. Together, they created a home for their four sons—Jason, Ryan, Kyle, and Tyler—in Rosemont, MN. Benny was a devoted father who provided for his family as a hard-working maintenance worker for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, he ensured that the southern suburb highways were safe and clear, especially during the harsh winters.
In 2009, Benny made the move to Alexandria, where he embraced the outdoor life he loved—fishing, boating, and exploring the beautiful countryside. Benny was a man who believed in hard work and dedication, always providing for his family with fairness, kindness and generosity at the core of his values.
A natural prankster, Benny liked to crack a joke that would leave you chuckling long after he walked away. He loved his family and cherished visits with neighbors, often seen mowing lawns in the summertime and saying, “Brrr it’s cold in the winter.
Benny is survived by his sons, Jason (Angela Brozek) Miller, Ryan (Brianna) Miller, Kyle (Emily Heupel) Miller, and Tyler Miller; five grandchildren, Hailey Miller, Gavin Miller, Emma Miller, Nora Miller, and Marlow Miller; brothers, Neil (Karen) Miller and Lyle (Marilyn) Miller; sisters, Fern (Jim) Dietz, Carrie Foley, and Kathleen (Mike) O’ Donnell; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Benny was preceded in death by: his parents, LaRue and Lucille Miller and his sister Thelma Jackson.
We will remember Benny for his hardworking spirit, his caring nature, and the countless laughs he gifted us. Rest easy, Benny. You’ll be missed more than words can say.
