Bernice Froemming, age 91, of Alexandria died Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Fargo, North Dakota. Bernice was born on April 28, 1921 in Carlos, Minnesota to Alfred and Emma (Brueske) Froemming. She was baptized at S. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria where she was a loyal Sunday School teacher for many years. Bernice attended school in Alexandria. As a young woman she greatly enjoyed league bowling. However, most people in the Alexandria area remember her as ?Bea? the lady who knew how to find anything and everything at Hardware Hank?s (later Ace Hardware). It was impossible to accompany her anywhere around town without people coming up and greeting her with ?I remember you from Hardware Hank?s?. Bernice is survived by her daughter Susan Erickson of Alexandria, her grandson Eric Erickson of Ulen, sister in law Fern Froemming of Orlando, FL as well as many well loved nieces and nephews. They are Jeff Olson of St. Peter, Marvel Froemming of Moorhead, Sally Kinenberger of Fargo and Sandra Gee, Larry Froemming, of Orlando, FL. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Emma, her stepfather Harry ?Pappy? Gulson and siblings Roy, Earl, Ralph, LaVerne, Albert and Rosa. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. William Moeller and Rev. Terry Finnern officiating. Stephanie Tewes was the soloist, with Mertice Brueske serving as organist. Bernice was interred in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, with Travis Olson, Brent Olson, Mark Anderson, Danny Van Heel, Stephanie Menning, and Sally Kinenberger serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers were Pam Raymond and Marvel Froemming. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
