Betty Jean (Henry) Beliveau passed away peacefully at her home in Alexandria, MN on November 26th, 2011. Betty was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Ponsford, MN to Roderick and Dorothy Henry. She was one of seven children and was preceded into death by her parents and her brother Douglas Henry. Betty was raised in Bemidji and graduated in 1949 from Bemidji High School. She received a degree from Northern Business College, also in Bemidji. After college, she was employed at the Northern Form Services. In 1951, Betty married her high school sweetheart, Elroy Beliveau, while he was serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After Elroy?s military service, they moved back to Bemidji, where they resided for several years before moving to Alexandria, MN. Betty and Elroy raised their sons Robert, James, and Richard in Alexandria. Betty was employed for 20 years as the manger of Bethel Manor Apartments in Alexandria, where she enjoyed working close with the elderly residents. She enjoyed gardening, raising vegetables, and raising flowers at their home in town, and at the Bethel Manor. Betty also enjoyed fishing, especially for walleyes and crappies. She and Elroy loved to travel, sightsee, and visit with friends and relatives. Betty is survived by her husband, Elroy, sons: Robert (Sandy), James (Shirley), Richard and grandchildren Andrew, Brittany, Ashton, and Alexis. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Pallbearers were Roger & Julie Blank, Andrew Beliveau, Tony Rutten, Tom Carey, Don Carey. Burial was at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria.
