Betty Hadden

Betty Jean (Garoutte) Hadden was born on April 28, 1938, in Heron Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Harold and Lena (Kuhnau) Garoutte. She graduated from Heron Lake High School and in 1955 moved with her parents to the Long Prairie/Clotho area. This is where she met Gary Hadden and the couple was married on August 31, 1958. To this union a son, Robert was born on October 26, 1964. In 1974, the Hadden family moved to St. Cloud.
Betty loved to cook, bake and can her garden vegetables. One of her favorite pastimes was feeding and watching the birds – some of her favorites were cardinals, hummingbirds, and chickadees. Betty loved music and could play the piano, organ, accordion and clarinet. During her school days she was in many concerts and plays. She and her sisters would sing at church functions.
Some of Betty's favorite memories were camping trips with family and friends where she would enjoy playing cards all day whether it was a good game of hand and foot, 500 or pinochle.
Betty died on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Robert; brother, Dean; sisters: Bonnie & Ruth; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim and sister, Lorene.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Clotho, Minnesota. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
