Betty Skramstad

Betty Skramstad was born on March 21, 1929, in Lake Reno Township the daughter of Joseph and Christine (Benesh) Zavadil. She grew up in Lake Reno Township and attended country grade school. Betty was united in marriage to Grant Skramstad on May 29, 1954. To this union three children were born. She worked at Woolworth, Tom Thumb, Fireside, Legion and retired from Bethany as a nursing assistant. Betty was very active in the Alexandria community. She was a member of the Red Hats, Daughters of Isabella and St. Mary?s Funeral Guild. She also bowled for several years and enjoyed working out at the Knute Nelson Wellness Center. Betty will be remembered for her beautiful gardens, her love of cooking and creating her own recipes. She was the center of her family, always generous and willing to lend a helping hand. Betty died on Monday, May 26, 2014. She is survived by her three children: Todd, Brad, & Vickie all of Alexandria; granddaughter, Emily; sisters: Dorothy Bartos of Glenwood, Janice Schelfo of Kensington; her dog Bim-Bim. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary?s Cemetery.
