Beulah Christopherson

December 22, 1916 — January 10, 2008

Beulah Mildred Christopherson was born in Osakis, Minnesota, on December 22, 1916, the daughter of Neal H. and Grace (Chapin) Bundy. She attended schools in the Clotho-Osakis area and was united in marriage on November 17, 1937, to Wilbert Christopherson at Elk River, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with one child, Allen. In 1941, the couple moved to Long Beach, California, to work during World War II. When the war ended in 1945, Beulah and her husband moved back to Osakis to operate the bait business that had been started earlier. In 1948 they moved to Alexandria and established their business in Alexandria. According to her son, Allen, Beulah was the ?driving force? behind the operation of Christopherson Bait Company. She spent the days working as the salesperson and bookkeeper while her husband was out catching bait. She continued in this capacity for many years. In 1976, the couple retired and began spending their winters in McAllen, Texas. It was here that Beulah and Will enjoyed tending to their orange and grapefruit orchard. Beulah also enjoyed gardening when in Alexandria. Beulah is remembered as a hard-working, loving mother and grandmother who could be ?feisty? at times. Beulah died on January 10, 2008, at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria, Minnesota, at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her son Allen Christopherson of Alexandria, grandchildren Brian Christopherson, Holly Hafen, Lee Christopherson, Denise Freese, Scott Christopherson, and Jennifer Eckel, step-grandchildren Treva Pina, Trevor Wilson, Corey Wilson, and Clarinda Dodson and 20 great-grandchildren. Beulah is also survived her sisters Hazel Swedal of Long Prairie, Carol Judkins of Portland, OR, and a brother Lee bundy of Lostine, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Dave Bundy and sister Blanche Bundy. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 19, 2008, from the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, Minnesota, with Rev. Rick Martin officiating. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery with Corey Wilson, Scott Christopherson, Lee Christopherson, Dana Freese, Brian Christopherson, and Dick Gustafson serving as Pallbearers.
