Beverly Botzet

OBITUARY Beverly Joyce Botzet was born to Marie Togstad on August 22, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN. As a baby she was adopted into the family of Otto and Mable Svee. She grew up in Alexandria where she attended school and worked as a waitress at Ollie?s Caf�. Beverly married the ?Love of her Life? Edward Botzet on May 15, 1956 at the St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Of this union they had seven children Richard, Kenneth, Joseph, Marlys, Bernard, Janice, and Kathleen. Beverly and her family lived on Ed?s parents? homesteaded farm. She helped on the farm by tending to the pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. She also tended to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and freezing the produce that was harvested. It was important to Beverly that her family have the teachings of the Lord, and also taught them good work ethics. Beverly enjoyed visiting and playing cards with family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and her trips to the casino. She was an excellent cook and baker and never let anyone go home hungry. She always had a smile on her face. Beverly enjoyed listening to Old-time music and going out to eat. Beverly was a loving, caring, and giving, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Beverly J. Botzet died on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Sharon Senior Services where she had lived for the last three years. Beverly is survived by her sons Richard (Judy) Botzet of Fairmont, MN; Ken Botzet of Carlos, MN; Joe Botzet of Carlos, MN; Bernie (Michelle) Botzet of Winfield, Kansas; daughters Marlys Botzet (significant other Rodney McClellan) of Carlos, MN; Janice (Tim) Swanson of Carlos, MN; Kathy (Bryan) Heid of Nelson, MN; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Mavis Maher of Osakis, MN; and brothers James (Connie) Svee of Alexandria and Donald (Maxine) Svee of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Botzet, sisters Helen Zentgraf and Ardell Maher, brothers Maynard Svee, Edwin Svee, and Stanley Svee. She is also survived by her extended family, Richard (Beth) Svee of Santa Cruz, Calif.; Jerome (Michelle) Svee of Duluth, MN; Marion (Richard) Christy of Seminole, FL. She was also preceeded in death by James Svee of Capitola, Calif. She also leaves behind many neices and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River, MN. Father David Petron celebrated the Mass and the St. Nicholas Belles provided special music. Interment was in the church cemetery. Casket Bearers were Brian Swanson, Michael Swanson, Brandon Botzet, Gene Hesse, SrA David Botzet, and Jeremy Botzet.
