Beverly Rooney passed away at home with her family surrounding her on December 15, 2009. Beverly was born on September 28, 1936, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Myrtle and Peter Larson. Her family moved to Thief River Falls and that is where she graduated from High School in 1954. Beverly moved to Alexandria in 1954, and began working at Osterbergs Caf�?. That is where she met Edward Rooney in 1955. The two were married on October 22, 1955 and have resided in Alexandria ever since that time. Over the years Beverly worked at Cowing Robards with Ed, she also worked with her son, Mike at Our Own Hardware in Parkers Prairie and owned the 601 Deli. But most importantly Beverly was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked at home and provided love, wonderful meals, and a constant source of witty humor and positive guidance for us all. Beverly will always be remembered for her incredible attitude, her outlook even in the face of sadness or illness. She always made others feel better and reminded all of us to be grateful for what we have ? such a gift. Beverly loved to be in her kitchen cooking and baking. She loved to read and learn, sewing, quilting, and working with her houseplants. She also enjoyed her lunches with friends. Beverly is survived by her husband, Edward; sons: Mike and Dan of Alexandria; daughter, Barb of Big Sky, Montana; daughter-in-laws: Deb and Colleen of Alexandria; five grandchildren: Anthony Thoennes, Aaron & Brittany Rooney, Eddie and Frankie Starz, granddaughter-in-law, Melissa (Roers) Thoennes; brother, Ken and sister-in-law, Darlene Larson of Dallas, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents: Myrtle and Peter Larson; siblings: Bud Larson (Santa Maria, CA), Patricia (Larson) Crooks (Yuba City, CA), mother-in-law, Anne Rooney, father-in-law, Vincent Rooney; brother-in-law, Steve Mercer; sister-in-law, Ruby Larson.
