Beverly (Buelow) Travis was born on November 31,1932 in Duluth Minnesota and died of natural causes and worn out body at 4:24AM on June 2nd, 2019 at Alomere Hospital in Alexandria Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her father William, mother Helen, husband Dale, daughter Patricia and brother William. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie, and Cindy, sister Mary and brother Neil, grandchildren Natalie, Stephanie, Alison, Matthew and Candace, 6 great grand children and her dog Maya.
Beverly had the best smile and sweetest disposition. She lived independently and actively through 2018 when she became home bound by bad weather and medical problems. She kept up an active reading program, loved the Public Television shows, stayed in touch with the local, national and world news, while finding time to stay in touch with friends and family on the telephone. She was able to do her house keeping and plan and prepare her own meals up to the the day she went to the hospital. Her memory and mind were sharp and clear till her last days. She could remember things that never happed. She loved to buy things at the “Safe Store”. She would go regularly and look for the “good stuff” and go back on Senior Day. I think on Senior Day your age became your discount. At 86 that’s a really good deal.
She loved doing things for other people and lately was able to graciously accept help from others. She was blessed by Craig Mische who became Maya’s caretaker, walker and personal trainer, after Patty’s death. Beverly was blessed with two wonderful son-in-laws, Danny and Pat. Pat had spent a full week taking care of her home and dog while Bev was hospitalized this winter. Her nurse Kendra, from Knute Nelson, became a loving caretaker who kept a close eye on Bev and was able steer her to the doctor and hospital.
Beverly and her family were blessed by the care and guidance of the staff at Alomere ICU. They were kind, attentive, professional and loving. A special thanks to nurse Ivy and Dr. Brian Nelson who assisted Beverly in leaving this world and join her Heavenly Father and all the ancestors who have proceeded her and await her in Heaven.
Her death leaves a hole in our heart just as her life had filled it up. We mourn and we rejoice and give thanks.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1Thessalonians 5: 16-18
