Bobby Gilsrud

Bobby Kermit Gilsrud was born on December 5, 1939 in Kilkenny, MN to Alvin and Leyola (Delaske) Gilsrud. He married Patricia McGinnis in 1958 and three boys were born Jesse, Jimmy and Jerry. Bobby then married Nancy Dahl on November 21, 1964 in Minneapolis, MN. They had three children Tim, Tammy, and Tom. Together they lived in Minneapolis and he worked as a backyard mechanic. Bobby worked on his neighbors and friends cars for many years. He also worked a variety different jobs throughout is life.

Bobby and Nancy moved to Osakis in 1993 where he enjoyed fishing and watching the wildlife outside. He also enjoyed watching western and war movies, car shows and afternoon car rides. He had good sense of humor and always liked to joke around with his family and friends. Bob was a good listener and offered sound advice to those who wanted it.

Bobby K. Gilsrud died on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Bethany Home in Alexandria at the age of 74 years old. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Nancy Gilsrud of Osakis, MN; mother Leyola Gilsrud of Burnsville, MN, sons Jesse (Jodi) Gilsrud of Minneapolis; Jimmie Gilsrud of Black Duck; Andrew (Cindy) Wrobel of Delvin, WI; Tim (Karen) Gilsrud of Osakis; Tom (Denise) Gilsrud of Osakis; daughter Tammy (Scott) McInnis of Belle Plain; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers Terry (Diane) Gilsrud of Woodbury and Calvin Gilsrud of Burnsville. He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Gilsrud, son Jerry Gilsrud, sister Carol and an infant sister.

A Visitation will be held on September 13, 2014 from 5-8PM at Osakis Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
