Bonnie Gayle (Anderson) Melville was born on February 20, 1951, to Gordon and Jeanette (Haugum) Anderson in Montevideo, MN. The family moved to Alexandria and Bonnie loved growing up in the lakes area. She graduated from Jefferson Senior High School and later attended Alexandria Technical and Community College graduating with an associate’s degree in fashion management.
In middle school, Bonnie met the love of her life, Keith Melville. They were united in marriage in 1972 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN. Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed square dancing and writing calligraphy together. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Heather and Amber. In 1980, the family moved to Brandon where Bonnie worked in customer service at Brandon Communications. Later, she worked at Cullen’s Home Center and then at Alexandria Appliance Service. She was a wonderful and involved mother who attended all of the girls’ sporting events and activities.
Bonnie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a first responder in Brandon. She enjoyed gardening, decorating for and celebrating the holidays, and attending her grandchildren’s activities and events. Family was extremely important to Bonnie and she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Bonnie Gayle Melville passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Barrett Care Center at the age of 71. She is survived by her daughters, Heather (Tim) Bitzan and Amber (Chris) Becker; grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, and Tyler Bitzan, and Addisyn Becker; brother, Grady (Belinda) Anderson; sisters, Caryn (Mark) Bongard and Julie (Dave) Palloch; brother-in-law, Craig Melville; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Keith.
Bonnie Gayle (Anderson) Melville passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Barrett Care Center at the age of 71. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
