Bonnie Irene was born on November 6, 1922, in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Perry and Nettie James. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated High School there in 1940. On November 29, 1941, Bonnie was united in marriage to Cornelius Murphy. After their marriage CJ was drafted and served his country during World War II. During this time Bonnie worked in an Arms Plant making Arsenal for the troops.
After CJ was honorably discharged the couple lived in St. Paul and later in Roseville off of Co. Rd. C2. This is where they raised their two children: Ron & Jolene. During this time the couple enjoyed growing raspberries and evergreens which they would sell. Bonnie also worked at Sears in the office for a few years. She loved music and played the organ for family and friends.
The family enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Little Falls on Fish Trap Lake and later bought a lot at Sandy Beach on Lake Miltona. This is where the couple retired and after several years moved to Fairgrounds Road.
Bonnie and CJ were the true testament of a wonderful marriage - they loved spending time together. Whether it was traveling the East Coast and Hawaii or going to the casino with friends. Time together was a treasure.
