Bradley Schmidt

August 28, 1962 — September 15, 2022

Alexandria

Bradley “Brad” John Schmidt was born on August 28, 1962 in Glencoe, Minnesota to Robert and Joyce (Friauf) Schmidt.  Brad graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Minnesota in 1980.

Brad married his high school sweetheart, Lori Bork on June 1, 1985.  They were blessed with two children.  Brad enjoyed working at Viking Foods for 25 years while also driving school bus.  After Viking Food closed, he worked for a while for a paving company.  His most recent place of employment was for DSG as a truck driver.  Brad was a gentle, kind man and a good mentor to others.  His love of tinkering and building things lead him to a life of helping others and always thinking of himself last.  He could always be found spending time with family and friends, be it going on motorcycle trips, camping, going to his children's extracurricular activities or playing with his grandchildren.  He loved hunting and playing sports with his son, brother and friends and listening to country music and watching Disney movies with his daughter.  He loved all children and they loved him and he was over the moon when he became a grandfather himself.

Brad passed unexpectedly on September 15, 2022 at the age of 60, with his wife by his side.  Brad leaves behind his wife of 37 years: Lori (Bork) Schmidt; his children: Tiffani (David Murray) and Nickolas Schmidt (Carrie); grandchildren: Ezra Murray, Harlow and Huxley Schmidt; mother: Joyce Frey; siblings: Randy Schmidt (Jodi), Michael Schmidt(Kelly), Barb Wishard and Wendy (Randy Burss); parent-in-laws: Marlys and David Dehnke and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Loved ones that have gone before Brad: step-father: Wayne Frey; sister: Sandy Schmidt; father-in-law: Norman Bork; maternal and paternal grandparents.
