Brandon Darryl Randt was born October 25, 1986 in Glencoe, MN, the son of Darryl and Christine Randt. He began school in Glencoe. Before starting third grade Brandon's family moved to Hutchinson, MN where he continued his schooling. Following his graduation from Hutchinson High School Brandon moved to Alexandria, MN and continued his education at Alexandria Technical College. He graduated with a degree in marine and small engine repair.
Brandon loved working on boats and boat motors. He worked for Bobber's Marine at Glenwood and later at Mills Fleet Farm. For the past five and one half years he has been working for Alex Auto and Marine.
Brandon loved being outdoors. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and liked going hunting with his dog, Bristol. He also enjoyed fishing in the summer and winter, camping with friends and family, sitting around a bonfire, boating, four wheeling and racing. If it was outdoors Brandon was all for it. He liked country music and and going to the festivals. Most of all, he loved doing it all with his best friend Steph.
In school Brandon played on the football team and shot on the trap team. He was also a wrestler. Brandon also proved himself a cut above the rest by earning the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America. Whenever anyone needed a helping hand Brandon was always willing to extend one, no matter what time of the day or night.
Brandon liked to cook whether it was new recipes or calling home for mom's recipes. Brandon loved his family and looked forward to time spent with them. He loved spending time with his brothers and sisters. He liked to joke and make them laugh and smile, which was usually followed with his own laughter which was the loudest in the room.
On Saturday, August 27, 2016, while Brandon was working on a boat, something he loved doing, he died at the age of twenty-nine years. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bernard Carrigan and Harry Randt; aunt, Penny Verdeck; and uncle, Gary Carrigan. Brandon is survived by his longtime Special friend, Stephanie Hadler of Garfield; his parents, Christine and Jon Carrigan of Hutchinson and Darryl Randt of Madison Lake, MN, grandparents, Dennis & Sue Meyer of Glencoe, Mary Ann Carrigan of Buffalo Lake, MN and Ruth Randt of Glencoe; son, Bentley Wittmer of Alexandria; brothers Bryan Randt and wife, Briana of Alexandria and Riley Carrigan of Hutchinson; half-brother, Luke Randt of Madison Lake, MN; sisters, Allyson Carrigan and Madison Carrigan, both of Hutchinson; half-sister, Nicole Randt of Waterville; one niece Layni Randt; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service was held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Reverend David Hinz officiated. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria. Memorials are preferred to the Chain of Lakes Ducks Unlimited, 9169 Circle Dr. NW, Alexandria, MN 56308.
