Brenda Turbes

Brenda was born on July 4th 1964 in Minneapolis, MN to Jim and Arlene Torkelson.  She was the youngest of 5 siblings. Mike lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Dennis lives in Jackson, MN.  James passed away 2 years ago and her brother Robert died 31 years ago.  She only had 1 child, a son Mathias Turbes lll who is 31 years old and currently resides in ST. Paul, MN.

“Butts” as we referred to Brenda as, was usually always laughing.  She had a way of being the speck of light to shine through the madness and the darkness that life throws our way.  She was always the first one in the car when a casino trip was planned. She couldn't get into the car fast enough and when it was time to go, it was damn near impossible to get her out!  You had to drag her away from her seat cause otherwise it was just one more spin, a couple more minutes!!

Brenda dealt with a lot of debilitating and complicated medical issues for the greater portion of her life, but somehow still managed to pull through.  She was a VERY strong and resilient woman and would always seem to bounce back from even the toughest battles.  She was extremely loving, outgoing, caring and down right stubborn.  It was her way or the highway and if it was the highway she was driving.  She wasn't afraid to tell you what was on her mind, and good luck trying to keep her from her mountain dew!!!  She was a very likeable woman who easily connected with people. She had no problem making and maintaining friendships and when within her means, was willing to go out of her way and take upon others burdens.  She loved her granddaughter dearly and was a big help to all of us in one way shape or form.  She will forever be honored but mostly greatly missed by all.  We Love you Brenda, and know that you are at peace and no longer suffering.  You are forever in our hearts and minds and we know that you are seated at the right hand of God, watching over us. You are now our guardian angels.  You will be deeply missed Brenda.  May peace and God's mercy be with you.

Brenda Turbes, age 55 formerly of Alexandria died on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Vibra Hospital in Fargo, ND.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from noon to 1PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
