Brian Lee Koenig was born on May 19, 1958 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Melvin and Helen (Bode) Koenig. The family moved to Alexandria in 1970. Brian graduated in 1977 from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. He worked with his best friend Brian Anderson at Anderson Custom Processing in Little Falls for a time. He went to work as a Union Plumber and belonged to the Minneapolis-St. Cloud Plumbers Local Union #15. Brian enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and hunting, anything that allowed him to enjoy the great outdoors. He loved taking trips to Duluth and the deer hunting shack in Kelliher, MN. Most of all Brian enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at the lake lot on Lake Union. He looked forward to trips back to New Ulm to see family there as well. Brian is survived by his parents, Mel and Helen Koenig of Alexandria, fianc�, Barb Dau of Alexandria; sons, Trevor (Sarah) Dreiling-Koenig, of St. Cloud and Dylan Koenig of Alexandria; brothers, Calvin Koenig of St. Cloud; sisters, Patty (John) McCormack of San Jose, CA and Jennifer (Mike) Herrmann of New Richland, MN; grandchildren, Burton and Althea Moon Koenig of St. Cloud; and niece, Lauren Herrmann; nephews, Matthew McCormack, Mitchell McCormack, Mason McCormack, Brandon Herrmann and Lucas Herrmann; aunts and uncles. Brian is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Thusnelda Koenig and maternal grandparents, Armin and Mildred Bode. A memorial service will be held 11 AM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at First Lutheran Church with a visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in Hudson Cemetery in Hudson Township. Honorary urn bearers will be Matthew McCormack, Mitchell McCormack, Mason McCormack, Brandon Herrmann, Lucas Herrmann, Lauren Herrmann and Brian Anderson. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
