Bryan Garmon

Bryan Flynn Garmon was born February 28, 1960 in La Mesa, CA, the son of Alfred and Pauleen (Lemke) Garmon. Alfred worked for General Electric and his job took him to many different places. Consequently Bryan grew up and was schooled in Japan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, France and Switzerland. His family returned to Ohio where he graduated high school. Bryan began working for the San Antonio City Water Board in Texas. Later he worked for Champion Insurance in Ohio. Bryan went into construction as a heavy machine operator. Bryan was blessed with four children, Austin, Shawn, Pypper and Courtney. In 1999 he and his family moved to central Minnesota living in Watkin, Painesville, Cold Spring for six years and most recently St. Augusta. Bryan was a member of the 49ers Union and worked building pipeline in the upper mid-west. Bryan enjoyed hunting deer with firearms and also with a bow. He was a very athletic person; in his earlier years he was involved in track and played tennis. Bryan enjoyed speaking other languages and teaching his children to speak other languages, especially French. He was a great cook, enjoyed diverse foods and experiencing others cultures through the unique meals he prepared. Bryan?s family was most important to him. He was always there supporting his children whether they had good days or bad. Bryan could always make his children laugh. He loved being involved in their lives. On Friday, November 20, 2009 Bryan was on his way to work in Duluth, MN when he died in a car accident. He was forty-nine years old. Bryan is survived by his parents, Alfred and Pauleen Garmon of Alexandria; two sons, Austin Garmon of St. Augusta and Shawn Garmon of San Antonio; two daughters, Pypper Namikas and husband, Robert, of San Antonio and Courtney Schmitt and husband, Jeremy, of St. Cloud, MN; one brother, Mark Garmon and wife, Jeanne, of Clearwater, MN; and one niece, Michelle Garmon. A funeral service was held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Rev. John Peshek officiated. Randy Morken and Karen Gladen provided music. Interment followed in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
