OBITUARY Carlos J. Lordalen was born on October 2, 1927 near Lowry, MN on the family farm to Carl and Emma (Johnson) Lordalen. He attended county school and graduated from Central High School in Alexandria. He married Ardelle Bartel at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria on December 9, 1982 by Reverend Magnus Peterson. Carlos lived and farmed the land his grandfather owned, making Carlos a 3rd generation owner of this Century Farm. He also loved music. Carlos played in a number of bands with Harvey Rajdl at Gene?s Barn, Lakeside Ballroom, barn dances town dances and wedding dances all over MN and ND. He also played the piano and harmonica with Ardelle playing the organ at many surrounding nursing home for their residents, including Hoffman, Glenwood, Alexandria, Osakis, and Starbuck. Besides music, Carlos enjoyed gopher football, Viking Football and the Twins. He liked to talk sports and remember the Good Old Days of Gopher Football. He will be missed by his family and friends. Carlos J. Lordalen died on Wednesday October 13, 2010 at Bethany Home in Alexandria at the age of 83 years old. He is survived by his loving wife Ardelle Lordalen of Lowry, MN; step-children: Gene (Cindy) Miller of Kansas City, MO; Dawn (Vince) Yocavetta of Golden, CO; and Lori Miller of St. Cloud, FL; 8 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service was held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Don Reisig officiating.
