Carol Lindblom

September 5, 1930 — February 11, 2018

Carol Shirley Lindblom, the only child of Selmer and Clara (Tollefson) Thompson, was born September 5, 1930 in Starbuck, MN.

During her childhood years the family moved to Elbow Lake. A big part of Carol’s life was socializing and working. Her first job was delivering newspapers. Carol often talked about pulling her red wagon around Elbow Lake distributing the news. In later years, Carol was employed by the bakery, creamery and the oil co-op in the small town. Carol graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1948.

Carol’s enthusiasm for cars and dancing led her to meet the love of her life. Carol was united in marriage to Elmer Lindblom on May 18, 1952. The Couple resided in Elbow Lake until 1969 when they moved to Alexandria, MN. Carol was a dedicated employee at an Alexandria car dealership for nearly forty years; she worked full-time until age seventy-five.

Carol was known as “Hot Wheels” to many. She enjoyed traveling to see Daniel O’Donnell in concert. She also enjoyed photography.

Carol was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

Carol courageously faced a variety of health complications in recent years. Jesus called Carol home on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Carol’s family thanks Knute Nelson Home Care and Hospice for helping care for Carol throughout her brave journey.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Lindblom; and an infant daughter. She is survived by her loving daughter, Gail Lindblom and husband, Arlan Krohnfeldt, of Alexandria; step-granddaughters, Carolynn Davis and husband, James, of Parkers Prairie, MN and Heather Barrows of St. Cloud, MN; step- great granddaughter, Keira Davis; cousins; nieces; nephews;  friends; and special neighbor kids, Gabe and Piper Maland.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery at Elbow Lake.
