Carol Miller

Carol Jean Miller passed away on June 6, 2017 at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center in Buffalo Lake where she resided since February. A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Carol Jean (Greupner) Miller was born Christmas Day, December 25, 1923 to Frederick and Esther (Monhardt) Greupner at home in Elk River, Minnesota. She graduated with high honors from Elk River High School in 1941 and went on to nursing school at Abbot Northwestern. She moved to Denver, Colorado and started her nursing career. She moved back to Minnesota and married Richard Miller on June 19, 1949.

Three children were born to this union, Richard Jr., Frederick and Barbara. Richard Sr. and Carol moved around Minnesota to many towns as Richard Sr. was a teacher, principal, and superintendent. In 1983, Carol and Richard Sr. built their dream retirement home next to the Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course outside of Elbow Lake, MN. Carol loved to bake bread, enjoyed golfing, gardening, knitting, reading, music and playing piano. Carol could be found doing the daily newspaper sudukos, crosswords and cryptoquips.

Carol is survived by her son, Richard Jr. and Gail Miller; their children, Meghann Miller (Teagan Darmody), and Rachel Miller (Tom Buch), her son Fred and Mary Lacugna Miller, and their children Sarah Miller and Andrew Miller, and daughter Barb and Paul Fagerberg and their children Chris Fagerberg and Eric Fagerberg, and brother, Milton Greupner and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 2015 and her parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Thursday. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
