Carol Wikstrom

Carol Ann Wikstrom was born on August 7,1944, in Huntley Township, Middle River, MN. She spent her childhood there attending school to the 8th grade. On July 28,1973, she married Dallas Wikstrom. She worked at Arctic Cat, Land O Lakes, and part time cleaning and as a wonderful homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were dancing, (in her younger days), listening to country music, (especially Allen Jackson and George Jones!) watching wrestling, going to stock car races, baking, cleaning, doing puzzles, dining out and she loved visiting family. She was preceded in death by her parents; Carl Rud and Clara Hoff, two sisters, Clarinda Cormier and Jennie Rud, and a brother; Arthur Rud. She is survived by her husband, Dallas Wikstrom of Alexandria; one son, Milton Wikstrom, (Sharon), of Alexandria, one daughter; Annette Lian, (Ross), of Thief River Falls MN; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, and Adam Lian, all of Thief River Falls, MN, Adam Wikstrom of Alexandria, Jodi Krey (Tim) of Dellwood, MN, and Brandi Hanson (Jeremy) of Plymouth, MN; and five great grandchildren; four brothers, Ernie (Joyce) Rud of Thompson, ND, Carl Rud, Jr. of Grand Forks, ND, Leroy Rud of Grand Forks, ND and Kenny (Bonita) Rud of California; and two sisters, Christine Veselka and Clarice Rasmussen, both of Middle River, MN. Carol died in her son's home, with the care of Douglas County Hospice, on February 24, 2008. All who knew and loved her will sadly miss her. A Funeral service was held Thursday February 28, 2008 in Thief River Falls. Interment was in the Wikstrom Cemetery at Strandquist, MN.
