Caroll Ruth Bluhm

Caroll Ruth Hartung Bluhm, 92 years of age and longtime resident of Alexandria, MN, passed away peacefully on May 24th at Bethany on the Lake. She was born on April 2nd, 1932 in Bertha, MN to Ellsworth “Sonny” and Ruth Hartung. She married Donald Bluhm on Nov. 4, 1951. They moved to Wheaton, MN where they began their lives together raising three children; Charles, Jillayne and Jacqueline. They moved to Alexandria in 1967 where she was a dedicated wife and mother, and eventually grandmother and great grandmother.

She also enjoyed her time working at the Vocational Center and Community State Bank. She and Don were active members at the First Congregational United in Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald, and daughter, Jillayne Kuznia. She is survived by son, Charles Bluhm of Alexandria and daughter, Jacqueline DeZellar (Mike) of Eden Prairie, MN; her five grandchildren, Jennifer Mullally (Nate), Christine Addis (Tom), Brittany Blake (Andrew), Zachary DeZellar (Chandler), Luke DeZellar; plus ten great grandchildren, Clare, Padraig, Cora, Anne, Marian, Ben, Liam, Kieran, Briggs and Aspen.

Funeral services will be held on June 1, 2024 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Alexandria at 11:00am, with a visitation at 10:00am. A luncheon will be served following the service with a burial to follow at Kinkead Cemetery.
