Cathie Renell (Lovold) Glaeseman, peacefully passed away on February 16, 2024, at Talamore Senior Living in St. Cloud, MN. She was born on November 27, 1952, to Leslie Richard Lovold and Hazel Christine (Anderson) Lovold.
Cathie was baptized on January 18, 1953, and confirmed at Lake Park Lutheran Church. She grew up with her older siblings Larry Lovold and Christie (Lovold) Herbranson in the close-knit community of Lake Park, MN.
She graduated from Lake Park Audubon High School in 1970, and later pursued an Associate Degree at Moorhead Technical College. She moved to Alexandria with friends and began working at Baumback Drug. On February 10, 1973, Cathie exchanged vows with her beloved husband, Alfred Dale Glaeseman, in a heartfelt ceremony at Lake Park Lutheran Church, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey together. Cathie traveled with Al in Europe while he was serving in the United States Army while stationed in Germany.
Throughout her professional life, Cathie made significant contributions in her roles. She worked diligently at United Telephone Company for several years before dedicating herself to the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority as a Public Housing Coordinator, where her passion for community development shone brightly. In 2016, Cathie retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and dedication to service.
Cathie loved to bake Christmas cookies, read cookbooks, and you could always find her watching the hummingbirds. Her warm smile, unwavering love, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Cathie will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her children: Kari (Jeff) Lettow of New Braunfels, TX, and their sons Jacob and Carson; Makayla (Chris) Pappas of Chaska, MN, and their daughter Madyson; Kevin (Courtney) Glaeseman of Golden Valley, MN, and their sons and daughter Cooper, Theodore, and Hazel.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Hazel Lovold, siblings Larry Lovold, Christie Herbranson, and her husband Al Glaeseman.
Funeral services for Cathie will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Miltona after the funeral luncheon.
