Charles Eugene Foslien

July 13, 1935 — February 15, 2024

Charles Eugene Foslien, age 88, of Royse City, TX, passed away on February 15, 2024. He was born July 16, 1935, in Brandon, MN, to Mildred (Sarsland) and Rueben Foslien. Charles graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. On June 4, 1960, he married Gwendolyn Clarke Foslien in Alexandria, MN. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. During his career, he was a registered professional engineer in the state of Missouri, worked for the Federal Highway Administration from 1960 to 1987, and was Division Administrator in the Minnesota office. During his free time, he loved woodworking, painting, and building things.

Charles leaves behind his loving wife, Gwendolyn Foslien; son-in-law, Craig Nash; daughter-in-law, Trina Peters Foslien; grandchildren, Christie Nash Childers and husband Matthew, Connor Nash, Colton Nash, Reyna Foslien, and Erik Foslien; step-grandson Clint Nash, wife Marla, and son Harrison; great-grandchild, Harrison Nash; and brother, Floyd Foslien. He has been united in heaven with his parents; son, Keith; daughter, Cynthia; sister, Bonnie; and brothers: Roylie, Myron, and Stanley.

A memorial service for Charles will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at West Moe Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota at 11:00 AM, with a visitation taking place one hour prior to services. Burial will be at West Moe Lutheran Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 278.
