Chleo Syverson

Chleo Esther was born on March 18, 1937, in Herman, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Meyer) Drexler. She attended school in Herman and graduated from Herman High School in 1955.
While working at a bank in Morris Chleo met Lester Syverson and the couple was married on October 18, 1958. To this union three daughters were born: Sherry, Jayne, and Jennifer. The family moved to Alexandria in 1969 where Lester worked for the State Highway Dept. and Chleo stayed home with the girls until they were in school and then she worked at various businesses as a bookkeeper.
Chleo’s passion was studying the word. She loved listening to Pastors that dug into the bible and taught her something new. Then equally enjoyed sharing what she learned with her friends at bible study. She loved her shopping trips with Jayne, Ali, and Jen. Whatever store they’d go into they’d all go their separate ways but always knew to look for grandma in the purse aisle. She was a devoted prayer warrior especially for her family. She so looked forward to time spent with them and adored her grandkids. One of her favorite sayings was “having kids was great but having grandchildren was magical.” She was a devoted caregiver to Lester, a wonderful mom, and loving grandma.
Chleo died on Saturday, February 13, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Lester; daughters: Jayne (Shawn) Koranda, Jennifer (Michael) Lyngen; grandchildren, Aaron Lyngen, Alison Lyngen, Jack Koranda; sisters: Ardyce (Bill) Vipond, Janet (Bob) Coleman.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
