Clarence P. Lange, died on February 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was at home with his loving wife, Jane by his side. Clarence was born December 10, 1939 in St. Francis, MN to Frank Lange, Jr. and Frances (Gappa) Lange. He was baptized in St. Francis, MN. At the age of five, Clarence moved to Alexandria. He made his First Communion and was confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria, MN. Clarence attended Alexandria public schools and graduated from Central High School in 1957. On June 23, 1962 Clarence was united in marriage to Mary (Jane) Larson. They were blessed with three sons, Alan, Steve, and Curt. Clarence was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church since moving to Alexandria. He started his involvement in the church at a young age as an altar boy. He later was an usher, and was an active member of many committees. Clarence was a building contractor in the Alexandria area for thirty-eight years in which he built and remodeled many homes and businesses. He belonged to the Vikingland Builders Association for many years. Clarence was a member of Kiwanis and the saddle club. He also helped with Habitat for Humanity. Clarence enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed traveling. Among his favorites were his many trips to Colorado to visit relatives and the cruises he went on with Jane. His greatest love was to spend time with family. He enjoyed taking them fishing and hunting. He was the number one fan of his grandkids; whether it was a football game, dance recital or school concert he was there. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Catherine (Kay) Lange. Surviving him are his wife Jane of Alexandria, three sons: Alan and wife, Carrie, of Miltona, MN, Steve and wife, Diane, of Parker, CO and Curt and his wife, Sara, of Roosevelt, MN; seven grandchildren, A.J, Matt and wife, Abby, Brian, Tausha, Riley, Adam and Lauryn; two step grandchildren, Brandon and Talia Khemmany; brother, Michael Ziebell; five nieces; and three nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria on Thursday, February 14, 2013 with Father Steve Binsfeld officiating. Music was provided by Laurie Youngers and Tom Mulder. Interment will be at St. Mary's cemetery with Clarence's grandsons, A.J Lange, Matt Lange, Brian Lange, Riley Lange, Adam Lange and nephew Mike Swendsrud serving as pallbearers. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
