Claude Martin Euteneuer was born August 3, 1928 in Elmdale Township in Morrison County, MN. He was the son of Joseph and Caroline (Wenker) Euteneuer. Claude attended school in Upsala and Grey Eagle. He graduated from Grey Eagle High School.
Following high school Claude joined the United States Army. He was trained as a medical aidman and served in Korea during the war. Claude was awarded the Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Stars. Following his discharge from the army Claude returned to his parent’s farm near Grey Eagle where he farmed and looked after his parents. After Claude’s retirement from farming he moved to Alexandria, MN.
On Sunday, September 2, 2018 Claude died at the age of ninety years. Claude is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Evelyn Olson and Louise Euteneuer. He is survived by two brothers, Florian Euteneuer of Columbus, OH and William Richard (Dick) Euteneuer of St. Paul, MN; two nieces, Patricia Olson of Minneapolis, MN and Jill Karl of Cincinnati, OH; one nephew, Richard Olson of St. Paul; one great nephew; one great-great nephew; and one great-great niece.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
