Cody Decker

June 25, 1988 — May 12, 2019

Alexandria

Cody Thomas Decker was born on June 25, 1988, in Mankato, Minnesota to Diana Walgren and Randy Decker.  Cody’s family moved to Oregon for 7 years.  The family moved to Osakis where Cody graduated from Osakis High School in 2006.  Cody enjoyed playing video games on the Nintendo, Atari or PlayStation.  After graduation Cody worked as a cook at D’ Michael B’s for 7 years, and the Brass Lantern for a year.  Last year Cody worked at Die Cast Specialties in Starbuck and just had started a job at 3M.

Cody loved to fish and did most of his casting from the shores of Lake Agnes.  He mostly loved catching Walleye’s.  He enjoyed his hunting trips when he was younger.  Cody also loved to cook seafood and make anything spicy, the hotter the better.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and being a big teddy bear.  Cody even put that on his Facebook page “I Am The Bear”.

Cody died on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at his home in Alexandria at the age of 30.  He is survived by his mother, Diana (Scott) Morton of Starbuck; father, Randy Decker of Evansville; daughter, Kira Osterman of Alexandria; uncles, James Walgren of Westbook, MN, Roger (Sherri) Walgren of Hitchcock, SD, Arthur Walgren of Hettinger, ND, Paul (Karen) Walgren of St. Joseph, and Dale (Mary) Walgren of Plattsmouth, NE; and many cousins.  Cody is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Janet Walgren; and cousin, Aundria Schadow.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
