Colleen B. Herzog (Morical), age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2011 with her family at her side after a year- long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents Murriel and Jenny Morical of Garfield, nephew, Mark Morical and brother-in-law, Rocky Haight Colleen is survived by her life-long love, Scott, husband of 60 years, daughter, Terri & son-in-law Chandler Carlson and son, Tim Herzog. She was the beloved ?Omi? to grandchildren: Jennifer & Scott Johnson, Peter & wife, Joy Herzog, Dan & wife, Michelle Herzog and Christy Herzog and her fianc� Curt Hartfiel, Deirdre, Caitlyn and Hannah Carlson and great granddaughter, Grace Herzog. She was sister to Roger (Maxine) Morical and Jerry (Virginia) Morical and sister-in-law to Mick (Gigi) Herzog, Bill (Carol) Herzog, Janis Haight and Ann Severson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Colleen was born in Underwood, MN and grew up in Henning and then Garfield, MN and graduated from Central High School in Alexandria, MN. When Colleen and Scott were first married they lived in Minneapolis, and then moved to Columbus, Georgia while Scott was in the service. When they returned to MN, they made their home in Hopkins. Scott attended U of M Law School and Colleen worked at First National Bank while they raised their children. When Scott graduated and found a position with Craig & Barnett Law Firm, later Moss & Barnett, they moved into their home in Minnetonka where they lived for almost 40 years until moving back to Alexandria for the last 10 years. During those years she was a loving mother, avid homemaker, gardener and bird lover. Colleen and Scott traveled the world enjoying the company of colleagues and friends. At home she loved to entertain friends and family with every holiday happily celebrated at their, Omi & Opa?s, home. Colleen discovered a love of water-color painting. She enjoyed taking classes and painted her way into becoming an award winning water-color artist. She was a member of the MN Watercolor Society and many local homes have her paintings hanging in them. Colleen loved her family ardently and was always available for her friends and church family. Her artistic style and hard-work combined to make a beautiful home and life for her, her family and her friends. Memorial service to be held at Grace Church in Alexandria, on Saturday June 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Family visitation will be at 10:00 AM, In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Grace Church, 1704 Hazel Hill Road, Alexandria MN, 56308
