OBITUARY
Coy Springer was born on February 17, 1958, in Minneapolis, MN to Elaine and William McCoy. When Coy was a teenager, she moved to Alexandria with her mother and grandmother. She helped her family run Broken Arrow Resort in Alexandria for a number of years.
Coy attended Central Jr. High and graduated from Jefferson Sr. High School in 1976. Coy continued her education by attending Alexandria Technical Institute and graduated with a certificate in clerical.
Early on, Coy worked for Lee Motors as a car detailer and at Fingerhut. Coy was currently working at Alexandria Industries, where she has been employed for last 34 years.
Coy enjoyed sports and the outdoors. When she was younger, she played co-ed volleyball and softball. Through her love of sports, she met and married Roger Springer on September 3, 1988.
Roger and Coy shared a love of Vikings football, Twins baseball, camping, and hunting. Family meant everything to Coy and was affectionately known by her many nieces and nephews as “Auntie Coy”.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2017 Coy was taken from us suddenly. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elaine McCoy and her sister, Maureen. Coy is survived by her husband of 29 years Roger Springer; sister-in-laws, Glenda, Gloria, Joyce, Janet, Elaine, and Mary; and brother-in-laws, Dan, Fred, Doug, Glenn, Bruce, Wilbur, and Ray.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. A private family interment of Coy’s urn will be interred in the Carlos Prairie Cemetery later in the spring.
Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
