DALE G. ANDERSON Dale Gilbert Anderson was born on December 9, 1937 in Windemere Township near Sturgeon Lake, MN, the son of Rudolph and Gladys (Gilbert) Anderson. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1955. Dale enlisted in the United States Army in 1955 and served in the Army National Guard until 1963. Dale worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis for about a year and then moved back to Fergus Falls to work with his father as a carpenter. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science for training in plumbing and pipefitting prior to his marriage to Carol Pederson in September, 1960. They had two children Daniel and Maureen. In 1963, Dale moved his family to Alexandria to take a job as a plumber with Michaelson Plumbing and Heating. He worked as a plumber most of his life and was commonly known around town as ?Liquid Plumber?. He took great pride in his work and mentored many apprentices. He was employed by Alex Plumbing and Heating, A & E Plumbing, and Ellingson?s Plumbing and Heating, and was a member of union local 236 based in Detroit Lakes. Dale married Anita Mullen on October 31, 1987, in Alexandria. Together they enjoyed visiting relatives, spending time with their grandchildren and going to casinos. Dale was a fan of stock car racing and was at Viking Speedway most every Saturday night, often with his son. Dale did not like to be late for anything, and was often hours early for important events. He was very particular with his cars and kept them spotless inside and out, especially his ?64? Pontiac Catalina. He could often be found on a Sunday afternoon washing his car. Dale was a man who could fix most anything and took his work very seriously. He was a gentle, kind, fun and loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend who thrived on contact with others. It was difficult for him the last few months of his life when he was unable to get out and visit with friends and didn?t have the energy to enjoy his time with his grandchildren. Dale loved his family and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Dale G.
