Dale Eugene Graff, age 80, of Alexandria, MN passed away on January 9th, 2024, at the Knute Nelson in Alexandria, MN. Funeral services for Dale will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN with visitation one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly, MN at a later date.
Dale was born on June 18th, 1943 to Henry and Edna (Gulbrandson) Graff in Morris, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church. Dale graduated from Hoffman Public School in 1962. Dale lived with his parents on the family farm in rural Donnelly, MN. His father died in 1953. When his mother remarried, Dale moved with his mother and step father (Edward Olson) to the rural Hoffman area and helped farm there. After his stepfather's passing, Dale and his mother moved into the town of Hoffman. Dale then worked at the Dew Drop Inn Restaurant in Hoffman. After his mother's passing Dale moved to an apartment in Alexandria, MN. He married his dear friend from Hoffman, Evelyn Hyatt, on April 23rd, 1997. Evelyn passed away in 2016. In Alexandria Dale worked at the Perkins and Culvers restaurants.
Dale was very proud of his memberships in the Masons, Shriners, Kiwanis and Golden K's. He developed great friendships and fellowships within those organizations. Dale especially enjoyed riding in the Shriners Calliope in many area parades. Dale also spent many hours volunteering at the Knute Nelson Nursing Home, Douglas County Hospital, First Lutheran Church and the Someplace Safe Thrift Store.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Hyatt) Graff; parents, Henry and Edna Graff; his stepfather Edward Olson; his brother Arven and sister-in-law Joanne Graff; his brother Harvey and sister-in-law Vivian Graff; his stepson Henry Hyatt and his nephew David Graff.
Dale is survived by his brother LeRoy and wife Gladys Graff of Big Sandy, Montana; his stepson Darryl Hyatt of Alexandria, MN; his stepson Darwin and wife Noelline Hyatt of Port St. Lucie, Florida; plus many cousins, nieces, nephews and so many that call him friend.
